Prolific songwriter, singer and musician Glenn Lewis FreyGlenn Frey has exited the planet. A native of Detroit, Michigan[ref]All Music[/ref] (the land of Motown), Frey succumbed to complications from Pneumonia, rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis at the too-young age of 67[ref]CNN[/ref].

Many remember him from his performances with The Eagles, a band he founded with Don Henley… a band mate during his time touring with Linda Ronstadt[ref]Dig Boston[/ref]. The Eagles were together for ten years before taking a 14-year hiatus and reuniting[ref]Time[/ref].

A total of six Grammy awards were earned by the group[ref]TMZ[/ref]. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998[ref]CNN[/ref].

During his tenure as a solo artist, his successes included being a prime artist (and actor) for the iconic television series Miami Vice.

His music was also iconic on other film and television programs. Remember the episode of Seinfeld that featured this song…

The following was one of my favorite from the MTV era. Great for whipping up a batch of tears during those periods of melancholia.

We will close with an interview The Eagles did with CBS’ 60 Minutes.

Rest in Peace…
