Just a few days ago, the maestro wrote on his web site[ref]B.B. King Web Site[/ref]:

I am in home hospice care at my residence in Las Vegas. Thanks to all for your well wishes and prayers.

Sadly, Riley B. King, #17 in Gibson’s “Top 50 Guitarists of All Time[ref]Gibson Web Site[/ref]” has exited the planet. The 89 year old musical genius had recently been treated for complications from diabetes[ref]BBC News[/ref]. He died peacefully in his sleep at 9:40 p.m. PDT Thursday at his home in Las Vegas[ref]Yahoo! News[/ref].

Many fans of BB King are leaving commemorative messages on BB’s Facebook Page.

He will be missed. We pray for his family, friends and loved ones.

Here is one of my favorite performances… one that BB did with the late Ray Charles. Enjoy.
